Day 2 of Thankfulness

Day 2 of Thankfulness

Day 2 of Thankfulness

Gratitude is the ultimate antidote to unhappiness.

I’m sure that we all have felt unhappy at one time or another. In that moment when I feel unhappy, I look for a reason to be grateful.  My life has been far from perfect, but what I learned through my experiences and by overcoming many challenges, there is always something to be thankful for.

The more I focused on the pain, the more unhappy I became. But once I started to practice gratitude, things began to change. Do you know it’s almost impossible to think negative thoughts and express gratitude at the same time?

Think about it; it’s true!

Example:

(Negative Thought) I’m so tired of being stuck in the house.

(Positive Thought) I am so thankful to have this quality time at home with my family.

Simply giving thanks can make you happier.

Expressing gratitude will almost immediately lift your spirit!

Nope, it’s not always easy and you won’t always feel like doing it, however the more you practice gratitude the easier it becomes.

Studies have shown that people who practice gratitude consistently report psychological benefits such as being more alert, optimistic and HAPPY!

They experience social benefits like feeling more generous, compassionate towards others, and being more forgiving.

Physical benefits include having stronger immunity and ability to cope with stress. Gratitude blocks toxic and negative emotions and enhances positive ones.

So, now you see why it’s worth the effort to practice gratitude.

Wow, so many of you replied with your gratitude list!
