What's on Your Gratitude List?

I am Grateful for:

1.      Life

2.      God’s Grace

3.      Family

4.      Good Health

5.      Faith

My list goes on and on… I am so grateful for you!

What’s on your gratitude list?

Omg, where would I be without my faith?

I’m so grateful for FAITH!

As far as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to travel the world.

I want to sail the seven seas. I want to see the seven wonders of the world. I want to see Gods beauty all over the world.

Africa has always been at the top of my list, but fear delayed this dream of mine.

Vaccines…Yikes, I’m terrified of needles. So, the thought alone discouraged me. If I had to get a shot, it was out of the question!

And then there was the long haul to get there. Do you know the flight is 16 hours and 30 non-stop? I don’t like being closed in small spaces and normally after 5 hours on a plane, I get anxious and restless. So there’s no way I could see myself booking a vacation that would require anything over a 5 hour flight.

It was March of this year and our 10 year wedding anniversary was approaching. My husband said pick a place, a special place anywhere you would like to go for 2 weeks. I immediately got on my computer and started searching vacation packages for South Africa. I was kind of kidding when I said to my husband, “Let’s go to Africa!” Surprisingly, he responded with excitement, “Let’s do it!” I was surprised because in the past, he had no interest in ever visiting Africa.

The next day he asked me, “Have you booked the trip?”

I wanted to, but because of fear, I procrastinated. I even started seeking other destinations to visit. In my heart, I knew this was my time. I knew God was making a way for this to happen, if only I could move beyond my fear. I decided not to let my little fear of needles or spending nearly 17 hours in a plane prevent me from living life to the fullest.

October 1-15 was the trip of a lifetime. I really loved Alaska and I loved Hawaii so much that I always said that I wanted to go back for our 10 year anniversary. But, I’m so glad we did something different, because I can add my love for South Africa to my favorite places of travel. Actually it’s #1!

You see, I’m so grateful my faith is bigger than my fear.

If I had not acted at that moment, I would not have met so many amazing people, the food was delicious and the countries, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, and South Africa are all beautiful and unforgettable.

I would still be hoping and wishing and probably regretting I missed an opportunity that may or may not happen again.

My question to you is, “What do you really want to do in 2020?”

Think about it, write it down, believe in your dream and go for it!

We only get one life to live and what I’ve learned is the very thing your heart desires is waiting right on the other side of your fear, but if you grab hold to your faith and walk towards your fear, that fear will fade away.

What I know for sure is none of this would have been possible without my faith in God.

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”  ~Mark 9:23

Declaration: I will no longer allow my fear of (fill in the blank) to control my life. I choose to live my most brilliant life.
